Preparation

  1. Serving size:
    1.88 oz (calculated)
    Notes: 1 brownie, about 6 cm by 4.5 cm and 3 cm high (2 3/8 in by 1 3/4 in by 1 1/6 in)
  2. Temperature: 350 °F
  1. Remove the flesh from the avocado and mash it using a fork.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients and stir until everything is well combined.
  3. You can also use a food processor to mix everything together, but it's easy to accidentally overmix. This makes the brownies cakey, rather than fudgey.
  4. Line a loaf pan or other smaller oven-proof dish with parchment paper.
  5. Add the batter to the pan and smooth it out evenly.
  6. Optionally add toppings like chocolate chips or nuts.
  7. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, depending on the thickness of your brownies. They are done when the edges begin to separate from the pan.
  8. Let cool for at least 30 minutes, then remove from the pan.
  9. Cut into 8 portions. Enjoy them as a dessert or indulgent snack.
  10. These brownies may have avocado, but you cannot taste it. They are fudgey with that slightly bitter taste of dark chocolate.
